I finally returned to the studio today for possibly my final studio session for my photography major course, with Sammy. The project was inspired by how the two of us became friends, where before a word was spoken we began pulling faces at one another at the bar. It focusses on the way in which the non-visual neocortex assists in the higher processing of visual stimuli in social interaction.
On a more personal note, it has been a joy to work with Sammy in the studio, both teaching her and learning lighting techniques myself. It will be a joy to have the completed book, not only as a photographic output but as a documentation of our friendship.
